SkyCity Entertainment Group is facing potential regulatory action, including the possible temporary suspension of its New Zealand casino license. This development follows the conclusion of legal proceedings concerning its Adelaide casino, which was fined $73.6 million for breaching anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing laws. The independent review of SkyCity’s Adelaide operations, paused during the court case, has now resumed. Additionally, SkyCity was recently fined $4 million in New Zealand for similar violations. The review will assess whether SkyCity remains suitable to hold a casino license.
